Vert Wheeler is a naive teenager who, on his 16th birthday, finds his dream car, a real life Hot Wheels Deora II, parked right outside of his garage. The door on the front of the car opens, and a monitor shows a recording of a mysterious man named Dr. Peter Tezla. The recording of Tezla says Vert gets to keep the car, but there is a catch; he must race in Highway 35, a multidimensional grand prix (created by extraterrestrial beings called Accelerons) against other drivers from all over the world. However, a group, called CLYP, find out about Highway 35 and intend to use it for other purposes besides racing.
